A Ring-necked Pheasant cock in an autumn cornfield — the iridescent plumage vivid against the dried corn stalks behind it, the long tail extending into the composition, the red face and green head forming the chromatic anchor of the painting. This is the pheasant in its autumn habitat, the season when the cock's plumage is at its most intense and the dried corn provides the specific setting that defines pheasant country in Ontario.
The Ring-necked Pheasant's plumage is one of the most technically challenging in bird art — the layering of chestnut, gold, purple, blue, and green on the body feathers requires careful control of wet-on-wet technique. Glen managed it with the authority of an artist who had studied the species closely.

Choose one of three edge finishes. A mirrored wrap gives the impression that the work continues around the edge of the canvas. A white edge offers a traditional, untouched finish, and a black edge frames the work with a quiet accent, almost like a shadow.
