The turquoise water of Lake Louise, seen past a tall, layered spruce that rises through the middle of the composition. Behind it, green slopes and grey cliffs fold back toward glaciated peaks half hidden in cloud.
Glen keeps the colour of the water exactly as it is, the milky turquoise that comes from glacial silt, and lets the dark green of the spruce carry the foreground.
