A Canada Lynx crouches over a Ruffed Grouse in fresh snow — possessive, watchful, a few loose feathers drifting from the hunt. Glen painted the predator-prey relationship without flinching: the grouse's wing splayed at an impossible angle, the lynx's amber eye holding both satisfaction and wariness. The snow around the scene carries the tracks and impressions of the chase that just ended.
Glen spent his career studying how animals actually live — not the curated moments wildlife photography favours, but the full arc of survival including its harder passages. This watercolour is one of his most powerful compositions for exactly that reason.
