# Season's Greetings — Giclée on Paper

There is a story behind this painting that no other gallery can tell.

When Michael Loates was ten years old, he and his father Glen built a snowman together in the yard. While Glen was outside painting the finished snowman, a gust of wind caught one of the mitts and blew it off — landing in the snow a short distance away. Glen found this genuinely funny. Rather than fix it, he left it exactly where it fell, and painted the scene just as it was: the snowman, the winter light, and the mitt lying in the snow where the wind had put it.

That painting hangs in Michael's home. This is the work it became — a small, private joke between a father and his son, preserved in watercolour for the last time either of them will forget it. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; his work has been collected internationally for over five decades. But this piece belongs to a different category. It was made, first, for a ten-year-old boy who helped build the subject.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
