# Lake Louise Alberta — Giclée on Paper

The mountains above Lake Louise in winter — the cliff faces of the Continental Divide filling the canvas almost entirely, the scale so large that the treeline at the bottom is barely a dark band. This coloured pencil landscape is one of Glen's most architecturally ambitious: the mountain's limestone face rendered with the same disciplined attention he brought to animal anatomy, the geology of the cliff — the horizontal banding, the gullies, the snow-filled couloirs — observed and placed with care.

Glen painted the Canadian Rockies across several visits, and the mountains in winter — without foliage to soften the rock — gave him the geological subject in its purest form. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; this mountain landscape is among his most imposing and technically demanding landscape works.

Produced as a museum-quality giclée on archival, acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks. A 1" white border surrounds the image, ready for the framer of your choice.
