# Spring Magic — Giclée on Paper

A spring woodland scene — the first wildflowers of the Ontario season emerging through the leaf litter, the light filtering through bare branches above, the whole composition breathing with the specific quality of early May in a mixed hardwood forest. This is the season Glen observed most closely across his career: the brief window when Trilliums, Trout Lilies, Hepatica, and Spring Beauty all bloom together before the canopy closes.

Glen's spring wildflower compositions are among his most joyful works — the combination of botanical precision and emotional warmth that comes from painting a subject he loved at the season he loved it. Glen Loates is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; this spring forest composition is one of his most beloved and personally invested works.
